HBHH medical missions are designed to absorb the impact of hundreds of people who need help by bringing in the extra doctors, nurses and medicines these people need. HBHH sends medical teams that typically see over 1000-2000 persons each week.
The triage team identifies the most urgent cases so that these people can be seen without delay. Everyone attends a hygiene class where they learn about nutrition, safe drinking water and prevention of disease.
All patients are treated by the doctors and, if appropriate, they are given medicine. Everyone is given vitamins and heathcare items such as toothpaste, tooth brushes and soap.
