HBHH keeps in close touch with Bishop Chibly in Fort Liberte (see Map), Fr. Desinord Jean in Port-au-Prince and the pastors of each village we help. This constant communication means that we are aware of special and urgent needs that come without warning. While planning is a big part of our work, we all know that many events in life can't be planned for - they simply occur without warning. When needs arise outside of our planning, we spring into action. Want to help? Here is what we are currently working on:

Thank you so much for your generosity!
We are in urgent need of the following items: baby scales, microscopes, ear or touch thermometers and prescription drugs with an expiration date no earlier than January 2012.
A great source of protein, easily shipped and stored, we are trying to collect as much as possible along with powdered milk, powdered gatorade mix, rice. dried beans, corn meal and vegetable oil (in plastic containers). All food must have an expiration date no earlier than January 2012.
Our goal is to give each family treated during our medical mission the items they need to improve basic hygiene - avoiding future illnesses through prevention. The soaps we need include bar soaps, detergents and chlorox.
Our next Medical Mission urgently needs all vitamins, cold medicines, pain relievers, bandaids, vaginal creams, neosporin, anti-bacterial wipes and liquid soap. Remember, all expiration dates must be no earlier than January 2012.
Each family helped by our Medical Mission takes away toys as well as healthcare supplies. We are collecting used tennis balls, Gasparilla beads, McDonald toys beanie babies and gallon zip-loc bags to assemble the toy packets. No expiration date worries on these supplies! Can you help a child receive their first toy?
