Since its inception in 2003, those of us at HBHH have worked hard to focus our efforts on areas that will not only help the people of Haiti today but also tomorrow and the days into the future. It is important that all aid organizations emphasize the need to give a hand up, not just a hand out, to the people they serve. Self-reliance can be the greatest possible gift we can bring to the people of Haiti.
In addition, since the beginning of our organization, we have been guided by those members of our organization who are from Haiti so that our priorities and efforts are truly in alignment with the most pressing needs.
